Some cabins have a view. This one has two.
Cathedral ceilings and walls of windows frame a long-range mountain view that runs ridge after ridge into the distance, with the twinkling lights of Pigeon Forge -- Dollywood's home -- glittering in the valley after dark. Behind the cabin, the back of the house looks straight into quiet forest. Big sky and city lights out front, deep woods behind. It's a real log cabin -- not a log-look build -- set on a private, wooded, rolling lot in Sky Harbor, at one of the most convenient points in the county: midway between Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg, close enough to both that guests can do a Dollywood morning and a downtown Gatlinburg evening without burning half the day in the car.
Inside, the floor plan does something most small cabins can't. The main level is the adults' territory: a gas fireplace anchors the living room, and the bedroom opens to a back patio with a new hot tub, screened by woods, quiet enough to sit out at night and hear nothing but the mountain. Upstairs, the loft becomes the kids' world -- a queen bed set against forest views, a full bath so nobody has to come downstairs, plus a pool table and air hockey. And the top level has the best seat in the house: a quiet porch where the long-range view opens up wider than anywhere else on the property, high enough that the ridgelines seem to stack forever. It reads like a private treehouse retreat, and it means two generations can share the same cabin without living on top of each other. That split is exactly what families search for and rarely find at this size.
And when the kids aren't along, this cabin turns into something else entirely. The classic Smokies heart-shaped tub is still here -- with a waterfall spilling into it -- an unapologetically romantic centerpiece that leans all the way into the vintage mountain-honeymoon charm this area was built on. Retro is having its moment, and couples book it on sight. Add an electric fireplace in the bedroom, the hot tub just outside it, and the valley lights after dark, and you have a cabin that works just as well for two as it does for six.
The owner has spent where it matters. A Carrier 16 SEER high-efficiency heat pump with an Aprilaire air cleaner was installed in 2022. 2023 brought a new hot tub, two new 50-gallon water heaters with stainless steel tanks, a new refrigerator, and exterior work including new deck stairs and new footings under the deck posts. A new well pump and kitchen faucet followed in 2024, and three new televisions in 2025. The cabin also runs on a Culligan water treatment system.
